What's in the Database
BuildStackHub publishes structured cost data for the project types contractors estimate most frequently. Coverage spans residential renovation, ground-up commercial, and specialty trades โ each page includes cost ranges, regional adjustments, labor breakdowns, and key cost drivers.
2026 Data Quality Standards
All cost data is benchmarked against RSMeans 2026 annual cost data, cross-referenced against regional labor rate databases, and adjusted for 2026 tariff impacts on key materials (lumber, steel, copper, and imported building components). Pages are reviewed quarterly or when major market events occur.

Data Provenance and Standards
BuildStackHub is committed to data transparency. Every cost figure on the platform can be traced to a specific source and update cycle:
- RSMeans 2026 โ National baseline for all assembly-level cost data. Published by Gordian, the industry standard since 1942.
- City Cost Indexes (CCI) โ Regional adjustment multipliers applied to both labor and material components for each metro market.
- Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) โ Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) for trade-specific labor rate validation.
- 2026 Tariff Schedules โ Material cost adjustments reflecting current tariff rates on lumber, steel, copper, and imported building components.
